The foundation

Odoo: one database, every app, your system of record

Every product on the Max Knowledge Platform is built on Odoo. Your business probably runs today on QuickBooks, four spreadsheets, a CRM nobody updates, and one person who knows where everything is. Odoo is what replaces the pile — one system, on one database, where a customer entered once is the same customer in the quote, the order, the delivery, and the invoice.

We are an Odoo partner firm. Implementing, configuring, and supporting Odoo is our trade.

The facts on Odoo

What Odoo is, plainly

Odoo is a suite of business software: one database and around 80 integrated applications that all read and write the same records. There is no sync, no export and import, no "which spreadsheet is right?" — because there is only one version of everything. It began as a small open-source ERP and grew into one of the most installed business platforms in the world. The current release is Odoo 20, shipped in September 2026.

The company

Built by Odoo S.A., in the open

  • Founded in 2005 in Belgium by Fabien Pinckaers, who still runs it; 8,000+ employees today
  • 28 million users, by Odoo's own published count — from one-person startups to enterprises
  • The core is open source: anyone can read it, use it, and extend it — no black box, no vendor holding your data hostage
  • Published references include operations of Toyota Material Handling France, Grameen Danone, and Veolia
Editions and hosting

Your choice of how it runs

  • Community: the free, open-source edition — a real working core you host and support yourself
  • Enterprise: the subscription edition — more apps, official hosting, support, and upgrades included; where most owner-run businesses land
  • Run it on Odoo Online, on Odoo's managed cloud for custom work, or on your own server — same software, your choice of control
The apps

The apps that matter to an owner

Eighty apps sounds like a lot. In practice an owner cares about five groups — the work of the business, in the order money moves through it. Each app replaces something you are paying for, patching together, or doing by hand today.

Sell

CRM, Sales, eCommerce, Marketing

Every lead and follow-up in one pipeline. Quotes and orders with your price lists and margins built in. Your catalog online, with orders flowing straight into the same stock and books. Campaigns aimed at your own customer list — no separate platforms, no re-keying.

Make and serve

Manufacturing, PLM, Quality, Maintenance, Project, Field Service

Bills of materials, Production Orders, and work centers instead of the production whiteboard. Engineering changes under control. Inspection points where the work happens. Work Orders for breakdowns and preventive maintenance, scheduled instead of remembered.

Stock and move

Inventory, Purchase, Barcode

Real stock in real locations, with lots and reorder rules. Purchase orders and supplier lead times that feed the plan. Scanning on the warehouse floor, so stock moves are recorded when they happen — not at end of day.

Money and people

Accounting, Invoicing, Expenses, HR, Time Off, Payroll

The general ledger, payables, and receivables — the apps that let QuickBooks retire. Invoices raised from the order itself. Employee records, hiring, and time off in the same records as the work. Payroll runs inside the same system, set up with guidance because payroll rules are local.

Pricing and fit

Per user, every app included — and it scales because it is one thing

Odoo pricing

No per-module tolls

  • Traditional ERP charges per module. Odoo charges per user, and every app is included in both paid plans — the app you turn on in year three costs nothing extra in license
  • US list prices, checked on odoo.com in November 2026: Standard runs about $25–31 per user per month; Custom about $49–61, stepping up after the first-year discount
  • One app alone is free for unlimited users, and there is a free Community edition

*Odoo and Microsoft 365 subscriptions are not included. AI agent charges are not included.

Why it fits

The system you learn at ten people is the system you keep at two hundred

  • The same database runs a six-person shop and companies with thousands of users — you never migrate to a "bigger" system
  • MRP without the mystique: what do we need, what do we have, when must the rest arrive — the plan is just those three answers, added up, and one database makes the inputs honest
  • An order is one record end to end: quote to order to Production Order to delivery to invoice, with nothing re-typed between steps
How we use Odoo

The foundation under every Max product — and our rules for building on it

Our rules

How we use it

  • Odoo is the foundation and the system of record: your contacts, orders, inventory, manufacturing, quality, and accounting live in Odoo's own data models
  • We never invent a parallel database — every Max surface reads and writes the Odoo record itself
  • We build the working surfaces and the Digital Workers on top; Odoo holds the truth underneath
  • We are an Odoo partner firm — this platform is our trade, not a sideline
  • Every app we build on this foundation carries the platform rule: a full CRM and ERP, with complete knowledge bases and databases, is built into every app
  • Digital Workers draft, check, and chase inside the record — Digital workers propose. Humans decide.
Your position

What you keep, whatever happens

  • You subscribe to Odoo and Microsoft 365 directly — you own your accounts and your data outright
  • Microsoft 365 with Copilot — which has rolled out and is now live — is the other half of the foundation, subscribed the same way: directly, by you
  • You hold the full code of everything we build for you; your knowledge bases carry your company's knowledge
  • If we disappeared tomorrow, 21,000+ partner firms work in the same system on the same data model — you would hire another and keep running
  • The honest limit, stated plainly: implementation is a project, not a download — data gets cleaned, processes get decided, people get trained. Budgeted honestly, it goes in fine
